FT Farfan's Agricultural Lawn & Garden (ALG) Division recently reinforced its dedication to community engagement through a heartwarming collaboration with the NGHS Foundation and Naparima Girls' High School students on a horticultural initiative at the JC McDonald Retirement Home. This project is a testament to FT Farfan's unwavering commitment to social responsibility and enhancing the lives of senior citizens.
Led by Sandy Samnarine – ALG Division Manager, this collaborative endeavour brought together Naps girls and their parents, alongside members of the NGHS Foundation, to transform the retirement home's grounds. The team worked diligently to beautify the green spaces by planting ornamentals and establishing herb and vegetable gardens, creating a vibrant and nurturing environment for the residents.
FT Farfan played a pivotal role by generously donating essential resources to ensure the project's success. These contributions included Sungro Professional Mix: SM#15, Triple Cal soil amendment, Hera garden boots in various sizes, a selection of garden tools, Goodyear hoses for watering, and various formulations of Black Gold fertilizers. These items not only served as vital inputs but also provided students with an opportunity to learn about the science behind horticulture.
This partnership between FT Farfan and the NGHS Foundation exemplifies the power of community collaboration. By engaging students in meaningful service projects, FT Farfan is making a significant impact on the well-being of the JC McDonald Retirement Home residents and instilling a sense of civic responsibility in the next generation. This initiative reflects FT Farfan's ongoing commitment to positively impacting the communities it serves.
